TDP activists tried to prevent a delegation of YSRCP which went there to study facts related to a scandal involving temple lands on Sunday. However, the police dispersed the ruling party activists and brought the situation under control.
Meanwhile, former revenue minister Dharmana Prasad Rao, who led the YSRCP delegation, found fault with the ruling TDP leadership for trying to stifle the voice of the opposition. He warned of serious consequences if the TDP made similar attempts in the future.
According to information, YSRCP legislators from Krishna and Guntur districts, under the leadership of Prasad Rao, reached Amaravati to inspect the temple land records. Jagan appointed the committee to look into the controversial auction of ‘Sadavarti Satram’ lands in Chennai owned by Amaravati temple. It is alleged that the lands worth of Rs 1,000 crore were sold at a cheaper price to benefit the TDP leaders.
